Managing Attorney Beth Roland Achieves Florida Elder Law Certification

June 15, 2023
Geoff Hoatson

ORLANDO, Florida—Family First Firm, an elder law firm protecting loved ones and legacies, proudly announces that Managing Attorney, Beth Roland, has achieved Board-Certification in Elder Law from the Florida Bar Association. This significant milestone for Roland and the firm further demonstrates Roland’s passion and commitment to providing quality legal services to seniors and disabled populations.

Roland has been practicing law since 1992 and has extensive experience in elder law. She earned her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Sweet Briar College. While her current focus is guardianship and guardian advocacy, she has extensive experience in probate, estate planning, and Medicaid planning.  She is also passionate about the services provided by the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office and volunteers her time to serve as appellate co-counsel through its Defending Best Interest Project, a passion for which she has earned wide recognition. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and Governor Ron DeSantis acknowledged Roland for her expertise in advocating for Florida’s most vulnerable populations in 2020 and 2019, respectively. In 2021, she received The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, a prestigious honor.

Roland’s previous awards include the Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office’s Excellence in Advocacy Award for Children with Special Needs in 2018; the Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office’s Children’s Champion Award in 2019; and the Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office & Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar’s Rising to the Challenge to Provide Pro Bono Service Award in 2020.

She is a member of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Litigation, the Elder Law and Appellate Practice sections of The Florida Bar and rising co-chair of the Elder Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association, along with attorney Jeanette Mora, also of Family First Firm.

Roland’s passion lies in ensuring dignity and independence among senior and disabled populations and educating the public on guardianship and less restrictive alternatives. Her Elder Law Certification will help Family First Firm remain at the forefront of elder law advocacy while providing top-notch service to clients.

"I'm honored to have achieved this certification," says Roland. "I’m committed to applying my knowledge and experience to enhancing the lives of my clients and their families. I’m also grateful to work with caring professionals at Family First Firm who go the extra mile to serve seniors and their loved ones. I look forward to continuing to contribute to our firm's and our clients' success."

“Family First Firm congratulates Beth on this tremendous accomplishment,” adds CEO & Founding Attorney Geoff Hoatson. “We’re thankful to have Beth on our team to help us fulfill our mission of providing quality legal services and happy futures for our clients and their loved ones in the Orlando area and throughout Florida.”
